The Corporation of the City of Burlington (City) is seeking Bids from qualified and experienced Consulting Teams for the survey, design, phasing, permitting and contract administration of improvements to Tyandaga Golf Course (TGC). The overall objective of this project is to develop and implement an asset investment strategy to prioritize renewal work at TGC over the next 10 years. The investment strategy shall be focused on the renewal of three primary asset types; irrigation, golf cart paths and urban tree forest canopy. A secondary objective of this project is to also formalize the active transportation connections or “eco trail” between TGC and the existing trails network within Kerncliff Park and City View Park which are essentially cart paths being used as walking trails in the off season when golf operations are closed. Based on available funding, construction logistics and golf course operations, the landscape construction plans are to be broken out into several phases over the next 10 years, so the city is “shovel ready” to implement each phase as funding becomes available. The implementation and construction administration of the first phase is included in the scope of work for this contract. The City has assembled an internal project team made up of staff from various departments across the Corporation to oversee the development of this project. A Landscape Architect from the Engineering Services Department will be the Project Lead for the city. The City’s preliminary project team includes staff from:
Additional technical staff from other services areas such as Geomatics, Urban Forestry, Stormwater Management and Accessibility will be engaged as required to support this project. Staff representation from Conservation Halton, Enbridge, Trans Canada Pipelines, Hydro One, the Province of Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment Commission shall also play a role as stakeholders and/or members of the project team.
