Site Address: 2440 Glenwood School Drive, Burlington Size: 0.95 Ha Queensway Park is classified as a ‘Neighborhood Park’ in the City of Burlington. The park fronts onto Glenwood School Drive on the north side, which provides the only access into the park. To the north of Glenwood School Drive are single detached homes. To the west side of the park is a single detached home as well as a townhouse complex. The east side of the park is currently vacant land that is designated as ‘Residential-High Density’ under the Official Plan. The south side of the park is a commercial industrial development. Refer to Appendix C – Context Map. The park is currently surrounded on all four sides by old chain-link fences. A long and continuous berm with large mature trees, and ranging from 0.9m to 1.25 stretches across the north side and east side of the park property. There is a catch basin at the south end of the park. Refer to Appendix B – Survey. The existing park features include a playground consisting of a swing set and a play structure, and a 17m x 19m single net asphalt basketball court, all of which are near the end of their life span and need to be renewed. While there are no formal pathways in the park, there is a well-travelled dirt path that runs across the south end of the park, connecting Guelph Line to the town house complex. |
